Okay, so although this blog is wholly and undeniably Stardoll related, I'm being somewhat right wing by defying the presumptions some of us would make about the posts that are stereotypically made for a stardoll blog. Today, I'm going to be treating you all to gem of a book I only found last night, so here goes!
So this is 0.4, by sci-fi author Mike Lancaster. It's set in an idyllic somewhat backward town outside of Cambridge, named Millgrove. The town has little connection with the outside, since mobile phone reception is non existant. One afternoon in the Summer, the annual Talent Show is held, like it is every year. Only Kyle (the protagonist) doesn't realise that the day of the Talent Show is the day everything, and I mean everything changes. The show starts out as normal as any other year's show - Mr Peterson does his terrible ventriloquist act, and then Danny, the sixth act, one of Kyle's friends steps up to do his hypnotist act. He was telling Kyle and the other friends that make up their group that a few days previously, he had successfully hypnotised his sister, Annette, to believe she was late for school, when it was infact the middle of the night, and the Summer Holidays. She frantically runs about looking for her school things, and then she is pulled back into reality by Danny. Danny starts off his act with a few card tricks, making 19 cards or so spell out "I need four volunteers" with one letter on each card. The audience, of about 1000 people, is reluctant to volunteer, so Kyle, out of wanting to save Danny becomming embarrassed, volunteers rather subconsciously. Lilly, another friend of the group also volunteers, and so does the previously mentioned Mr Peterson & Mrs O'Donnell. After being hypontised, they wake to find the whole of the audience very different... And that's where everything changes.
I don't want to give much more away, so I'm leaving my review on somewhat of a cliffhanger... Aren't I devillish?
